Character Creation

Backgrounds

One way or another, your character needs to be at Kramer County Community College. While any halfway plausible explanation you might think of is valid, you can also roll for a general character background. (or just something to use as a starting point)

Investment in the Unusual

Kramer County is pretty much normal. Incidents suggesting otherwise are easily dismissed by locals who’ve spent their entire lives in town. Out-of-towners are either too busy or just don’t care. Only the curious, young, and bored occupants of The College have the interest and the free time to seek the truth. Your character is among these seekers.

What insecurity, desire, or character flaw drives them to search for answers beyond the veil?

Attributes

Every character consists of three unique stats, each with a name and a colour. These Attributes are your character’s core personality traits, convictions, features, and interests.

To create your character, you must invent and name these three Attributes.

Don’t forget to share them with everyone you’ll be playing with before the session!

Attribute Names

You may name Attributes in any way, from ‘Crystal Girlie’ to ‘Beatboxing’ to ‘My old Co-Worker Brendan’. Poetry, Unicode characters, drawings, or anything else you can think of to meaningfully represent an aspect of your character are also valid.

These names are critically important, as all three represent your character entirely! Whatever you choose, have a clear idea of what these Attributes represent, and how to communicate that with your facilitator as needed.

Attribute Colours

Each character must have one Attribute for each of the three primary pigment colours: Red, Blue, and Yellow. The assignment of these colours is entirely vibes-based. You are strongly encouraged to form questionably grounded and unreasonably convicted justifications for this choice.

Attribute Bonuses

*After determining your attribute names and colours, roll a d6 for each to determine their starting Bonuses.

Any Attribute corresponding to the highest value rolled receives a +1 Bonus.

Guiding Questions

I don’t need your answers to these questions, and neither do you.
They are meant to get the process started.

Examples

Do you disagree with any of these?
Good.
Use the spite as creative fuel.

Notes

Experience and the benefits you can spend it on are primarily gained from dealing and taking wounds. Characters and play oriented towards conflict will grow in power much more quickly.
